So after my great day at the amusement park, my skin was red, hot and painful :( I applied my sunscreen like always but the sun was pretty strong that day (we reached 104 F) My sunburn wasn't as bad as my friends' (they didn't apply sunscreen >.> ) but I was still concerned about it, so I decided to do what I always do to accelarate the healing :) This is how I do it.
If my sunburn is pretty bad and painful I take an anti inflammatory. My choice is Ibuprofen (This big bottle of ibuprofen was around 4 bucks!!! :D Now that's what I like!)
Ibuprofent helps with the swelling and pain. I only take it the first day, after that I have not pain at all :)
Always eat something before you take a pill! If I don't eat anything before taking a pill I get a stomache :( Food is a must for me when it comes to pills!
Cetaphil Is perfect for soothing sunburns :) When you get sunburn you need to hydrate your skin as much as you can and I found that Cetaphil works wonders for that purpose (I use cetaphil all the time but I'll get into more detail in a later post)
The moment I put Cetaphil in my arms I felt a great relief, I could feel how it started to cool down and how my skin was absorbing all the moisture, exavtly what I wanted to achieve :)
Look for thick moisturizer instead for the watery ones and preferable non-scented.
When my skin is not red anymore (around two or three days) I exfoliate my skin to remove all the dead skin. I don't like harsh scrubs so i use my face scrub ( ST Ives Apricot Scrub Renew & Firm - Timeless Skin $3) I use it three times a week and after that i apply my Cetaphil and in my opinion this is the best combo for sunburn skin. It works great! You can see the results pretty soon and that makes me happy :)
Last but not least drink a lot of water!! you need to keep yourself hydrated more!!
Please drink water instead of juices :) Water is healthier and 0 calories ;)
(Yes that's my everyday glass ^^ I know it looks from a halloween store and it is! but i think it looks cute ^o^ so I use it all the time)
Sunburs suck! but we now know how to help the healing process. Do all these easy steps i told you and you'll get relief sooner :)
Please read my story and help me :)
